Mary Jane Watkins-Dortch of Eureka Springs, Ark., passed on July 30, 2023 at 91. She was born on August 29,1931 in Springdale, Ark., to parents Thelma Jackson and Walter Watkins. Her father was the manager of the Welch's Grape Company in Springdale, Ark. She was an honor graduate of Springdale High School in Springdale, Ark. in 1949. She earned scholarships to University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she was a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority. She earned a bachelor's of Music, specializing in voice in 1953.
